Sqootle Classification Index

Of the many varieties of Sqootle-kind, Sqootle-U has found the most common Sqootle species to be the Sqoop. Known best for their happy/smiling disposition, Sqoops are the most adaptive of the Sqootles and range the most in their facial features and size.
-
Often mistaken for impossibly large moths, Squeep have oblong, oval-like faces and multiple thin tongues they use for navigation and dust consumption. Though many Squeep have wings and all have keen navigation abilities, they often prefer to perch up high and flaunt their wings over utilizing them for flight.
-
Known best for their exceptionally stimmy behavior, the Sqootibranch’s most notable features are their ribbon tails, and “bumpy face” - scientifically known as their Booper-Vents. While lacking nostrils, Sqootibranch have adapted their mouths into multiple vents for dust, resulting in the bumpy formation of their faces. This species has also been observed to be one of the most active and adventurous among Sqootle-kind.

First discovered in the early 90’s, Sqoobers are known for their love of collecting. With softer upper skulls, Sqoobers often stack items onto their head and will enjoy environments with items similar to those they collect. While some Sqoobers do originate within the Floof Zone, most spawn into existence within our universe.
-
Believed to be the first of Sqootle-kind to enter our dimension, Sqootisaurs are best defined by their clear underbite and energetic behavior. Often possesing a few “teefers”, Sqootisaurs are great on their own and will typically take on a protective role when housed with other Sqootles.
-
These flora loving Sqootles are easily identified once located, as they are the only kind of Sqootle that utilize photosynthesis rather than filter feeding dust. Lacking nostrils, Sqolora have plant and/or moss patches instead. While different in how they eat, Sqolora benefit just as much as other Sqootles from pets.
-
While Sqootle-U is still studying this species, it is already clear that these Sqootles take on features of earth fauna, such as cats, birds, and rabbits. Preliminary data from deeper studies have shown a denser skeletal structure within Sqootimals than other Sqootle-folk, though the reason why is still unknown.
-
This rare kind of Sqootle is easily recognizable by their two mustache-like feelers located just below the nostrils. Using these feelers both to navigate and direct dust into their nostrils, the Sqootistach species will often demonstrate more paternal behavior when in schools of Sqootles, and will occasionally seek out newspapers for optimal dust collection.

Forming exclusively in this universe, Sqootle-U’s understanding of Zootles is limited. Observations of Sqoober formations outside the Floof Zone shows that all other Sqootle birth is the result of a reaction with presently occurring emotional energies. Zootle spawning reactions seem to involve the imprint of past emotionally resonant events upon particular objects or specific locations. The Zootle species conforms less to specific head shapes or behavior patterns than other kinds of Sqootle, there is a lot of debate on whether they are their own divergent branch of the Sqootle family tree.
